NADFAS Heritage Volunteering is an act of participation in the preservation of our wonderful heritage throughout the nation.  Volunteers have commitment, enthusiasm and discipline, work within teams and find the work stimulating and rewarding.

In our West Surrey area there are over 200 Heritage Volunteers supporting local museums and galleries, historic houses, churches, libraries and archives.  Past and present activities include:

Another facet of Heritage Volunteering is Garden Recording.  In the West Surrey area, Farnham DFAS researches the history of local gardens and reports to Surrey Gardens Trust.  The DFAS Garden Recorders Group has also contributed material towards “Down the Garden Path”, a small exhibition on the history of gardens and gardening at the Museum of Farnham.

Further activities information can be obtained from the Chairman’s Page.

If you would like more information on local Heritage Volunteering, or if you have a potential
Heritage Volunteers project, please contact your nearest NADFAS Society or contact the
